Nerd Halloween Pumpkin Bash?
(Kind of a neat ring to it, don't you think?) Is anyone else iching to get together this month as a Herd again? Maybe a movie, some games, or whatever is decided upon. It's likely that we won't be able to have all of us in one place at the same time, but maybe we can get the few that can together one of these nights. Is Splashboy going to be dropping by sometime this month? If so, maybe we can plan around that. We might end up not being able to do anything, and that's okay. People are busy. But if we can, it would be great to spend time with you guys again as a group. Good luck in all you're doing! Make it worth it!

Sounds like a great idea to me. Puma man anyone?
ReplyDeleteI need to come down one of these weekends. I could be there! I know, it sounds unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI can't the weekend of the 19-20. My brother is entering the Spaceward Games in Farmington. I am going to see him compete and maybe help out with his project.
The 26th and 27th I will probably be free. Maybe. Not so sure.
I would love to come, I unfortunately have 3 weeks of obligation with the Utah National Guard in anticipation of our upcoming deployment... if it is after November 10th I can pull it off, but otherwise it will probably be a no-go... I guess that would not make it a pumpkin bash though, huh?
ReplyDeleteWhy not do both? I think we could pull off a "pumpkin bash" around the night of the 27th (if that works for everyone else) then hold a seperate "cornucopia bash" in November at James' convienience. This gives us opportunity to meet both months (even if only a few people can make it to each one.) How does this sound to everyone else?
ReplyDeleteI'm game for whatever just not the morning of Nov 3 or the evening of Oct. 25. I have tests... and another one I still need to schedule
ReplyDeleteOkay. Sounds like the 27 is our best bet. Let's shoot for that night after 6:00 or so, allowing time for everyone to get back from the Stake temple trip that afternoon. Location can be discussed later, but for now will this work for you Ked?
ReplyDeleteI may not be able to make it after all. Go ahead and plan it without me. I'll let you know for sure...sometime...
ReplyDeleteAlright, the 27th it is! We can discuss ideas and details over the next few days. Great!
ReplyDeleteI'll make whatever I can on the 27th, but I think there's a Howe family reunion, the Nelson early thanksgiving, and the Cedar City Livestock festival that weekend, so I may have to hold out for the Cornucopia bash. Hopefully there are enough people to call it a Party, and not Home Teaching :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and me, Superguy. The four and a half of us are going to have a great time. As for the party in November, everyone start thinking of when they will be able to free up an evening. (This may be one of the last times we get together, due to our move to Clearfield in Dec.) See you guys later!
ReplyDeleteOk, I'll try my best to make it to the cornucopia bash. It is important because Nate will be leaving.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that we borrowed cornucopia from Greek? The Greek language did not undergo the same changes from Indo-European that Germanic went through. If Grimm's law (the changes) had been applied to Greek it would be called hornucopia. We do call it the horn of plenty. Same with unicorn. If this animal had come from Germanic language it would be unihorn. Funny huh?
Hey, that's pretty cool! I've learned something new this week! Thanks for sharing that.
ReplyDeletethanks for the random language history
